Favor and disgrace cause panic; value the body as if do your gravest anxieties.
What does it mean in saying "favor and disgrace cause panic"? It means that as favor is bestowed, both gaining and losing it should cause panic.
What does it mean in saying" value the body as if do your gravest anxieties"? the reason we have gravest anxieties is because we are embodied persons. If we are not such persons, what anxieties would we have?
Thus those who run the world with the attitude of valuing their bodies can be entrusted with the world. And those who run the world with the attitude of valuing their bodies can be authorized to run the world.
Marcus Aurelius once said that a man has seldom been seen to be unhappy if he doesn’t observe what is in the mind of another. But those who don’t observe the movements of their own minds must be unhappy. – Book Two, Meditations.
I don’t need to observe the minds of people around me. Although they seem to live a normal life, but I know they are living an incomplete one, especially as for educated college students. Finally those, whose lives consisting of playing football, listening to obscene music, and speaking indecently, would be discarded by God, which means a virtuous, prosperous life.

(Adds further detail, more analyst comment.) FRANKFURT (MarketWatch) — Chemicals company BASF SE (BAS.XE) Thursday said its second-quarter net profit rose 27.5%, and reiterated its guidance for the full year, as strong sales in its oil & gas unit offset weakness in its chemicals operations. Net profit rose to EUR1.3 billion from EUR1.02 billion last year, beating analyst expectations of EUR1.1 billion, according to an average forecast of seven analysts polled by Dow Jones Newswires. “Demand for our products remains strong, and the summer lull does not seem to be very pronounced,” said BASF Chief Executive Juergen Hambrecht. He added, however, that sales prices will have to be increased considerably in some cases to pass on significantly higher raw material costs. Earnings before interest and taxes, or EBIT, before special items rose to EUR2.41 billion from EUR2.03 billion a year earlier.
